|Levon & Sophia Hagopian Armenian College Today|
Levon and Sophia Hagopian Armenian College has 260 students this academic year with its intermediate and secondary sections.
The college has students from grade 7 to grade 12 with Life Sciences and Economics sections. It also has Technical section BT1, BT2, and BT3.
Besides the technical section, the college has daily and nightly special courses that take place in trimesters. The courses include languages (Armenian for beginners, Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German), Arts (drawing, bead’s work, photography), and sciences (computer novelties, accounting, and nutrition).
The college has a library of 25000 books, a laboratory, the modern “Kalousd Gulbengian” computer center, an audio-visual section, and its official hall. This year the students also have their renovated playground on the first floor of the college.
The college publishes “Sunbeam” paper twice annually.
The classrooms, halls, and the offices are provided with the facilities of using the internet.
The college has a dancing group (the dancing instructor Mr. Varouj Chaparian), a choir (conductor Kayane Margossian), chess team (trainer Elie Houlishian), and basketball and football teams (responsible Antranig Der Mardirossian).
The principal of the college is Mr. Vicken Avakian. Thirty-five teachers and employers work hand in hand with the principal.
The college has its Board of Trustees, the Ladies’ Auxiliary, and the Alumni.

Values of Lebanon
|SAYS THE FOURTH VICE GOVERNOR OF
BANK OF LEBANON ALEN BALIAN
Upholding the Lebanese moral values and being loyal to the Armenian role in strengthening and progressing Lebanon was the call of the fourth vice governor of Bank of Lebanon, Mr. Alen Balian, to the students of Levon and Sophia Hagopian Armenian College on the occasion of the Lebanese Independence Day.
Alen Balian declared that independence brings with it the awareness of responsibility. “The Lebanese Armenians by recalling the Lebanese Independence Day affirm once more the responsibility of clinging to the values of this country” he stressed and added, “ideal citizenship is a basic value through which this country can emerge out of its crises. The ideal citizen respects the rights of the others, is involved in the advancement of the country, and believes in mutual talks and agreement.”
Alen Balian delivered his message to the students of the college during a celebration that took place in the hall of the college and in the presence of the principal, the Board of Trustees, and the teachers’ staff at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20. Read More.
